She participates in an event that nobody really follows much. It's not as exciting as running. Just big women throwing a piece of rock.
She saunters onto the field, throws the piece of rock, so far, in the first attempt itself that others keep wondering how to cross that.
Four of her five throws yesterday were longest than the second competitor. Which means she would've won the gold in any of those four throws.
Usually others compete only to win the Silver or the Bronze medal as the Gold belongs to her. She just needs to come, throw, win and go home.
She is the most dominant athlete in her chosen event, man or woman.
Last evening, shot putter, Valerie Adams fm New Zealand, won her fourth consecutive world championship gold medal at Moscow. Which means she's dominated this event for the past eight years.
(only Sergei Bubka has won more medals in a single sport i.e. 6 in pole vault)
Add 2 Olympic gold medals in Beijing 2008 and London 2012
Add 2 World Indoor Championships in Valencia 2008 and Istanbul 2012
Add 2 Commonwealth Gold medals in Melbourne 2006 and New Delhi 2010.
And she's only 28. We are looking at a legend here ....
