The 'Dark Horses' for this World Cup are at it again.
England overcome the West Indies in a nail biting encounter to nose up above them in Group B standings.
Each match they've played has been dramatic and fraught with tension, drama, excitement and an unbelievable result.
That too from a team which has long been accused of not being serious on the game's shorter version.
Who would've thought that the Pommies could run India close then lose against Ireland and upstage South Africa next. As if that wasn't enough, they lose a close match to B'desh and come back to pip WI at the post.
And this performance comes from a team which lost it's only match winner in Pietersen, to hernia. Then they lose their pacers Stuart Broad and now Ajmal Shahzad, for the rest of the tournament. And the Delhi Belly nearly snared Strauss and Swann.
A team looks very dangerous when their bench strength have the courage and the will to stand up and be counted. That's exactly what Ajmal Shahzad, Chris Tremlett, Eoin Morgan and James Treadwell have done.
It's a very tricky situation for the English team as they will have to wait for other results to ensure their place in the quarter finals. While it may or may not happen the last thing their opponents would want to do, is to take them lightly. As this is the team that has the spirit and the will power to pummel the mighty Aussies in their backyard.
While England have finished their group engagements, the league standings are quite tricky and there's no clue on who would finish in the top 4. While SA is on top right now, what if they lose to B'desh. The table could turn upside down if India go down to the West Indies, who're looking well settled with a very aggressive batting line up (remember, Chanderpaul and Sarwan are yet to come to the party) as well as a steady bowling unit.
While Pollard's exploits are well known, Darren Sammy has turned out to be the surprise package for the team. A good bat and a decent bowler, he has a steady head to captain the side and looks at ease handling seniors as well as juniors. To top all this Kemar Roach bowls at over 150 kmph with ridiculous ease.
Bangladesh are always dangerous in their backyard and come March 19, South Africa will have their hands full on a sure shot minefield.
Group B has well and truly turned out to be the 'Group of Death'. What remains to be seen is who hangs and who goes through.
